Founded by editors with four-plus decades of combined experience across art, design and cultural publishing, we look beyond the finished object to the creative lives and long history of human decisions the completed work conceals. A digital-native, newsletter-first publication, Breaking Frame makes room for ideas that might otherwise remain at the margins of traditional media. Here, the obscure angle, strange thread or peripheral detail can become the story—the one that may have been waiting in the wings with no way to reach you.

Our coverage spans architecture, interiors, art and craft, along with the broader practices and rituals that color a cultivated life.
